Women's Recognition Day 2023

Come to be inspired in our efforts to eliminate racism, empower women, and enhance our community (and eat a delicious lunch).

Women’s Recognition Day honors the contributions of women in Tazewell County. This recognition inspires everyone to follow their goals and make an impact in their communities and, hopefully, fulfill the mission of the YWCA Pekin, which is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.  

WHEN: Thursday, May 4, 2023 at noon (doors open at 11:30 am)

WHERE: Miller Senior Center, 551 S. 14th Street, Pekin, IL 61554

INVESTMENT: Individual tickets are $30.00.  

RSVP:  Reservations are due April 27, 2023.  You may register with the link below or pick up a reservation form at the YWCA Pekin. You may also call the YWCA to arrange your reservation (credit cards are accepted).  Please call the YWCA if you have any questions.

ADULT AWARDS: Nominations are due by April 14, 2023.  Please consider nominating a woman who inspires you, creates a positive impact, or otherwise demonstrates outstanding achievement. You can submit a nomination here . Past Recognition Award recipients are listed at ywcapekin.org/womens-recognition-day; if possible, please nominate a woman who has not previously received a Recognition Award.  (previous student award recipients are eligible). 

STUDENT AWARDS: Each middle school and high school located in Tazewell County has been invited to select and bring one outstanding young woman to be honored.
