Cardio/Weight Room

Our Cardio/Weight Room features a wide variety of equipment that cover all of the major muscle groups. It is available during all normal business hours.

45 Minute Flow Yoga

 

Make time for the mat with this 45 minute vinyasa Flow. This all levels class will provide all of the elements of a regular vinyasa class but with a shorter duration for warm-up and cool down. This class is designed to get you in, get you energized, and get you ready to take on the rest of your day!

FLO'N'GLO Yoga

 

This is an all levels active vinyasa yoga class. This class will challenge all levels and abilities with modifications and props provided throughout the class. Each student will experience a personal journey of discovery, increased strength, flexibility, and balance.

Yoga Strength

 

A means of exercising, stretching and freeing the body so it can be a healthy and vital instrument of mind and soul. You will experience elements of Hatha (Power) and Ashtanga Yoga. You will also be able to drive further into the mind-body connection with the added feature of mat work Pilates.

Chair Yoga

 

Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair.  These modifications make yoga accessible to those with physical limitations, find other types of yoga classes too challenging, or as a great introduction for those who are first-time yogis! While seated comfortably in a chair, students enjoy versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild back-bends.  Participants can enjoy health benefits from yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep, and a sense of well being.

SilverSneakers® Classic

Designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and improve activities for daily living. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support and class can be modified depending on fitness levels. Other equipment such as hand weights, stretch bands, and SilverSneakers balls are used for resistance. **There is no charge to eligible members of Humana’s Medicare Advantage Plan, Optum Fitness Advantage, and AARP Medicare Plans for our SilverSneakers Classic class.

 

All YWCA members can participate for $5 per SilverSneakers Classic class.

 

 

 

Karate

Karate is well known for improving cardio-fitness, flexibility, strength, agility and self-discipline. Karate training empowers people to redirect their energies in a positive manner in order to accomplish their goals and gain new self-confidence. We offer classes for ages 7 through adult. 

Our classes are taught by Rick Brewer, 8th Degree Black Belt, & Jim Hartman, 6th Degree Black Belt
